BITO history
Since BITO-Lagertechnik was founded in 1845, the company has kept up with the developments in industry and growing customer demands and can now look back on more than 160 successful years. Below are some milestones of our company history.
The former manufacturer of punchings and jointless hollow spheres developped into a market leading specialist for storage and order picking systems as well as plastic bins and containers.

| 2006 | Establishment of BITO's 10th subsidiary in Europe |
| 2000 | Transferral of BITO's injection moulding facilities to the new plant in Lauterecken |
| 1991 | Relocation of the BITO administration from Idar-Oberstein to Meisenheim |
| 1978 | Establishment of a steel plant on a surface of approximately 73.300 sqm in Meisenheim |
| 1976 | The first live storage installation is manufactured which marks BITO's entry into the order picking sector |
| 1962 | Start-up year of plastic processing |
| 1959 | Fritz-August Bittmann (today's owner) starts to manufacture products for the storage and materials handling industry |
| 1845 | Leopold Bittmann founded a company for metal ornaments and decorative elements used in the leather industry |
